Summer: parks, pools, and mountain air
Summer afternoons in Beaumont are hot, and evenings cool down fast thanks to the 2,630-foot elevation. Families spread across the city's roughly sixteen parks, with sports fields, playgrounds, and splash pads carrying the day. Beaumont Sports Park, Palmer Park, Fallen Heroes Park, and Trevino Park are local standbys, each with its own character.
When the heat peaks, the mountains answer: Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead sit about an hour up the mountain, and a day trip for lake breeze and pine air is the classic Beaumont summer escape.
Fall: harvest season and clear skies
Autumn brings the clearest air of the year, perfect for hiking Wildwood Canyon or driving the mountain back roads toward Oak Glen, the apple country just over the pass, where orchard stands, cider, and pumpkin patches anchor the season. Bogart Park stays busy with camping and cookouts as temperatures finally relax.
Sunsets in the pass are a local ritual in fall: the San Jacinto range glows, and the golden hour runs long.
Winter: snow on the peaks, mild days below
Winter puts snow on the San Bernardino peaks while Beaumont itself stays mild and mostly clear. A short drive up to the mountain communities puts kids on snow within the hour, then returns to a warm town where Main Street's railroad heritage and small shops keep the pace slow. Holiday season events and the nearby desert resorts of Palm Springs, about 30 minutes away, round out the winter calendar.
